The song “I Got 5 On It” is now canceled.
Jordan Peele has kept his next venture into horror under lock and key. On Christmas - he finally released the trailer for the upcoming Us.
We see Lupita Nyong‘o and Winston Duke take their family on a trip - only to be encounter dopplegängers of themselves. Dressed in red and carrying golden scissors, these “Tethered” - as the Get Out directed named them - pursue the family in what looks to be a terrifying and thrilling chase.
During an early release, Peele gave a little insight to why he made the film. According to the Hollywood Reporter:
"Very important for me was to have a black family at the center of a horror film," Peele said. "But it's also important to note, unlike Get Out, Us is not about race. It is instead about something that I feel has become an undeniable truth. And that is the simple fact that we are our own worst enemies."
Well, we only have to wait three more months to be horrorified all over again. US splits theaters March 2019.
